Born in 1882, Queens Park Rangers Football Club (QPR) is one of England's oldest and most revered football teams. It all began with a group of active boys based in the Queens Park area of London who sought to stay fit during wintertime by forming the St Judes' Institute F.C., later changing their name to QPR four years afterwards. To this day, they remain proudly rooted in White City - London’s entertainment district – inspiring generations over time through their passion for sportsmanship and camaraderie.
After years of playing in the London leagues, QPR experienced a significant breakthrough when they gained promotion to the Football League in 1920. Over the next few decades,QPR enjoyed considerable success - winning multiple titles and earning promotions from lower divisions. However, their difficulty in establishing themselves firmly within English football's top flight culminated with numerous relegations over time.
In the eighties and nineties, QPR had a bumpy journey in the top flight of English football. Relegation followed by promotion was an all too common occurrence for them. But this ended in 1996 when they were relegated to tier two and have been there ever since. Thankfully, Tony Fernandes and his band of investors purchased the team in 2011, investing heavily with hopes to return QPR back into its rightful place: The Premier League!
With ardent supporters and a storied past, QPR stands tall amidst the London football scene. Additionally, the team has cultivated passionate rivalries with Chelsea, Fulham and Brentford over time.
