Burnley Football Club is an English professional football club established in Burnley, Lancashire since 1882. Boasting an illustrious history dating back to their debut at Burnley Academy as an 1882 academy team, they now hold one of the longest histories in English football.

Burnley enjoyed early success, winning both the Football League championships in 1921 and 1960 as well as FA Cup glory twice (in 1914 and again on several occasions).

Burnley endured years of struggle and lower division football until Sean Dyche took charge as manager in 2000s. Under Dyche's tutelage, they experienced a remarkable renaissance which saw promotion to Premier League twice--first in 2009 then again in 2014. Burnley established itself as a formidable competitive force within this top flight competition.
