1860 Munich, officially TSV 1860 München, is a German professional football club based in Munich, Bavaria. Founded on 17 May 1860, the club is one of the oldest football clubs in Germany and has a long history.

1860 Munich was one of the founding members of the Bundesliga, Germany's top football league, when it was founded in 1963. The club enjoyed considerable success in its first years, finishing second in the season. first Bundesliga (1963-1964) and won the DFB-Pokal (German Football Cup) in 1964 and 1965.

The club's most successful period came in the mid-1960s when they won their first and only Bundesliga title in the 1965–66 season. Under Max Merkel, 1860 Munich had talented players like Rudolf Brunnenmeier, Petar "Radi" Radenković and Rudi "Bomber" Brunnenmeier.

Since that championship, 1860 Munich has seen many ups and downs. The club faced financial challenges, changes in ownership and periods of relegation in the lower leagues.

1860 München develops strong rivalry with Bayern München, the city's other major football club. The matches between the two teams are known as the Munich Derby and are always fierce.
